DIY: Glittered Skull

Hello Hodgepodge-ians!
I have another DIY for you guys! I don't know about you guys but I am in love with skulls. If you saw me in person I am always supporting some type of skull bracelet around my wrist. Even though my mother disapproves of skulls I think they are pretty cool and a good staple to have in your wardrobe or even in your room. Today, I am going to show you how to make a Glittered Skull!

Seriously, my friend and I were walking around Michaels' and we were picking up EVERYTHING we could find. We stumbled by the Halloween section which was is in the middle of one of the aisles and saw a paper mache skull. They put all these sections to get to you. Michaels' knows how to sell their crafts. Poor me I could not resist and for only $2.99 it was in my basket. It was perfect and a little bit of love and DIY could make it even better! This is the perfect way to spice up your vanity/desk area.

You will need the following items:
  1. Paper Mache Skulls - $2.99 Michaels'
  2. Modge Podge - $4.99-8.99 (I have the big one because I use a lot in crafts) Michaels'
  3. Your Choice of Glitter:
    • Gold Glitter - Walmart for $2-3
    • Pink Glitter - Michaels' $9.00 (We used a 50% Joann's Coupon)
  4. Foam Brush - 45 cents Michaels'
  5. Any type of hair spray
Let us get started!
Step One:
We are going to start by using the foam brush to apply the Modge Podge in sections. You want to apply liberally so that the glitter will stick to the skull.
Step Two:
When we are sprinkling on the glitter we made sure that we had done so in a box. The box will catch all the excess glitter. This will help us create less waste of the glitter and we can put it back in the container. Now we do not want to waste that beautiful glitter, do we? I sure do love myy glitter.
Now we are going to pour the glitter onto the areas where we have applied the Modge Podge. We went back in forth between Step One and Two until we were satisfied. The Modge Podge and glitter will take some time to dry so you might want to wait a couple minutes before repeating Step One and Two.
Make sure you tap off the excess glitter into the box.
Step Three:
The last step is to take your hair spray and spray the whole skull.  This step will help the glitter from falling off the skull! You will need to wait a few minutes for the hair spray to work it's magic!
Final Product!
Now you have your own glittered skull. I hope you liked this super easy and affordable DIY! Please keep reading and stay tuned for more updates.
